EYE EXAMS MAINTAIN HEALTHY EYES

Eye exams and eye tests are a vital part of preventative health care as many disorders of the eye may not show symptoms in their earliest stages. At Vaughan Optometry, we provide a thorough checkup of your eyes to detect early signs of eye diseases like cataracts, glaucoma, or macular degeneration.

We will learn your lifestyle and work habits in order to better understand the type of lenses, both in glasses and contacts, that will work best to your visual ability.

Eye Exams Vaughan

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED AN EYE EXAM?

It is recommended that you visit us for an eye exam once a year to monitor for prescription changes and assess for any ocular disorders that may be go unnoticed.  For those with diabetes, pre-existing ocular conditions, or having a strong factor for disease , we may recommend an eye exam more frequently depending on your initial visit.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AN EYE EXAM?

We will ask about any concerns you are experiencing with your vision. A careful understanding of your medical and ocular history will be noted along with any lifestyle changes that help us determine the style of lenses best suitable for you.

Your visual acuity will be taken, glasses or contact lens prescription measured, eye pressure and the structures of the eye from the cornea to the retina will be assessed. Dilating eye drops may be used and it is highly recommended to take retinal imaging for a detailed view of the eyes.
